CANON 7
From Finance Committee 

 
Section 1. - The Finance Committee shall be elected at a meeting of the Diocesan Synod: will consist of two Clergymen resident in this Diocese, and two Lay. The members shall hold office for two (2) years on rotational basis. The initial election and appointment shall be one and two years for each member, Clergy and Laity. Subsequently, a cleric and a lay member shall be elected or appointed taking into account the position of the person being replaced, for a period of two (2) years or until his successor is elected in the same way. In the event of a vacancy between synod, the Committee shall elect a person to fill the position until the next Synod.
 
Section 2. - The Finance Committee will choose annually from among its members a chairperson and a secretary who can be a Clergy or Lay.
 
Section 3. - The functions of the Finance Committee will be:     
 a) Develop with the Treasurer of the Diocese's annual budget establishing priority criteria related to the needs and economic possibilities of the Church.     
 b) shall be the duty of the Finance Committee to monitor the proper use of the finances of the Church.     
 c) shall be the duty of the Finance Committee notify the Ecclesiastical Authority of any defect or irregularity in the use of the budget.
