CANON 11
Committee of Ministers
 
 
Section 1. There will be a Committee of three clerics Ministry canonically resident in the Diocese and three lay communicants must be members in good standing. The Nominating Committee will propose a four (4) clerical members and three (3) lay members, of which the Synod shall elect a member of the clergy and two lay members. The members shall remain in office a period of three (3) years on rotational basis. The initial election and appointment shall be one, two and three years respectively. Subsequently, the Commission will propose a slate of nominations, taking into account the position of the person being replaced, for the Synod to elect one of them for a period of three (3) years or until his successor is elected the same way. In the event of a vacancy between synod, the Commission shall elect someone to fill the position until the next Synod.
 
Section 2. The Commission on Ministry shall perform the duties designated by Canon, including but not limited to the following:     
  a) Set the rules for their work, after the bishop's approval consistent with the Canons.     
  b) Appoint specialist staff when required.     
  c) Assist the Bishop in the calling, training and continuing education of the laity for the exercise of his ministry.   
  d) Assist the Bishop in matters relating to the needs of ordained ministry within the Diocese, recruiting and selecting people for this ministry, as well as providing guidance and pastoral care to all candidates for Holy Orders as Deacons and Priests.     
  e) Assist the Bishop in matters relating to continuing education for ordained ministers.   
  f) Interview each candidate, whether for the Diaconate or the Priesthood, to ensure their personal capacity for such management, and inform in writing without delay to the Standing Committee the results of your interview.     
  g) Recommend Synod to hold examinations required by the Canons for management.
