CANON 6 Treasurer
Section 1. - The Treasurer of the Diocese of the West will be an active communicant of the Diocese and shall be appointed and / or ratified annually by the Diocesan Synod from a list proposed by the Bishop.
Section 2. - The duties of the Treasurer are: a) Use and care of the subsidy received from New York and the reserve fund and designated funds b) Pay salaries, fees, allowances and taxes and tax obligations as a religious association. c) collect and receive the quotas allocated by the Synod to the Parishes and Missions, invest such funds as ordered and report all income and expenses, and to develop together with the Finance Committee, the draft budget for next previous year study of the real possibilities and the economic environment of each Parish and Mission. d) Send notice ten days before the beginning of each quarter to the parishes and missions organized by reminding them that a quarter of the quota allocated by the Synod for the Budget of the Diocese, to the last day of the quarter. Send with each notice a statement that includes the entire diocese, with reports, explanations or findings that in his opinion be necessary or to order the Finance Committee. Section 3. - In the event that the office of Treasurer becomes vacant, the Bishop and Standing Committee shall appoint a new Treasurer who will serve until the next meeting of the Diocesan Synod new appointment is made. The Treasurer may be removed by the Bishop and Standing Committee at any time, or in the absence of the Bishop, the Standing Committee, if you note there is evidence of negligence or wrongdoing and dismissed may appeal to the Synod. Section 4. - The Treasurer's books shall at all times subject to inspection by an external annual audit, it will inform the Bishop and Standing Committee.
